Our Services
OUR PEST CONTROL SERVICES IN AMBERLEY
The census counts 619 people here but only 29 occupied private dwellings at an average of 1.4 people each. The arithmetic says roughly forty people live in houses and the remaining several hundred are counted in living-in accommodation on the base. So the residential job in Amberley is a few dozen properties on rural land, and they are worth doing properly.

Our Local KNowledge
COMMON PESTS IN AMBERLEY
Before it was Amberley this was Three-Mile Creek, three miles out along the Old Toowoomba Road from Ipswich. The current name came from James and Martha Collett, who in the 1850s called their residence after their home town of Amberley in West Sussex. The air base opened in June 1940 and now covers about 1,600 hectares with over five thousand uniformed and civilian personnel, which makes it the largest military air base in the country and by a wide margin the largest thing in the suburb.
What that leaves for us is the balance of the locality: grazing land, rural blocks and creek flats running out toward the Fassifern Valley. It is a genuinely rural pest environment. Paddock and bushland boundaries close to houses, sheds and farm structures that see more pest traffic than the house does, stored feed and hay, water troughs and tanks, and rodent movement that follows the seasons and the paddock rather than the street.
Warrill Creek is the feature that matters most. It runs through the locality and the Bureau of Meteorology maintains a dedicated flood gauge on it here, which tells you something about how seriously the creek is taken. In the 2021 and 2022 summer the Amberley gauge recorded 935.8 millimetres, 111.2 millimetres above the 2011 record, and Ipswich City Council’s recovery plan names Warrill Creek among the creeks that flooded. Council publishes historical flood maps rather than a list of affected suburbs, so for your own block the maps are the place to look.
Termites
TERMITE INSPECTIONS IN AMBERLEY
More Australian homes are damaged by termites each year than by fire, flood and storms together, and no insurer carries it. CSIRO’s national termite hazard survey grades this region high. A rural block on a creek sits at the harder end of that, because creek flats give a colony permanent moisture and mature timber in the same place.
On a property out here the inspection does not stop at the house. We work the roof void, subfloor, internal walls and full perimeter with a moisture meter and thermal camera, then go out through sheds, machinery bays, stables and feed rooms, tank stands, fence lines, stacked timber and the creek boundary. Coptotermes acinaciformis nests in stumps and tree bases and feeds up to 50 metres out, which on a rural block puts a lot of your own land inside range of the house.
The pattern we see on creek-flat properties is that the first evidence is almost never in the house. It is in an old fence post, a stack of timber against a shed wall, or the stumps of trees cleared years ago and left in the ground. Those are the things we look at hardest, because finding it there is a very different conversation from finding it in a wall frame. The QBCC sets annual inspection as the minimum in high hazard areas.
What you get
What's Included in a Pest Treatment
A rural property is not a suburban house with a bigger lawn and we do not price or scope it as one. Inside comes first, through the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, wardrobes and skirting boards, then the roof space and the subfloor where there is one.
Outside runs to the perimeter, eaves, window and door frames, weep holes, fence lines and garden beds, clearing webbing and wasp nests and placing dust or bait into voids a spray will not reach. On an Amberley block that extends through the sheds, machinery and implement storage, tank stands, feed storage and the treeline, because on rural land the outbuildings are almost always where activity shows up first.
Larger properties take longer than a suburban house and you get a straight estimate on the day rather than a standard time. The certificate is emailed that afternoon and we set the next reminder before leaving.

Frequently Asked Questions
Amberley Pest Control FAQs
The things people ask us most before they book.
How much does pest control cost in Amberley?
Rural blocks are quoted on the property rather than a flat rate, because the number of outbuildings matters more than the floor area of the house. Ring 1300 545 489, tell us roughly how much land there is and what structures sit on it, and what we quote is what you pay. The quote costs nothing.
Do you service the air base?
Defence sites run their own contracted arrangements, so base facilities are not something we can simply book in for. What we do cover is everything else in the locality, which is the rural properties, houses and sheds across the rest of Amberley. If you live off base, whether you work there or not, we can come to you.
Why does the census say 619 people live here?
Because it counts base personnel in living-in accommodation, not just households. The same census records 29 occupied private dwellings at an average of 1.4 people, which works out to roughly forty people living in houses. The supporting figures all point the same way: two thirds male, a median age of 23, three families, and no dwellings at all held with a mortgage. Property websites present those numbers as ordinary suburb demographics, which is simply wrong.
Is Amberley District State School in Amberley?
No, and this catches people out constantly. It relocated to Yamanto in 2010 and has been there ever since. There are no schools in Amberley itself. Willowbank Raceway and the motorsport precinct are likewise in Willowbank next door, not here, despite everyone calling them the Amberley track.
We're on Warrill Creek. What should we expect?
More mosquito activity after rain, more rodent movement along the corridor, and the highest termite pressure on the property concentrated along that boundary rather than around the house. The creek is taken seriously enough that the Bureau of Meteorology runs a flood gauge on it here, and the 2022 summer set a rainfall record at that gauge. It changes where we put the effort on the day rather than being a problem with the property.
How often should I get a termite inspection in Amberley?
Annually as a floor, and every six to nine months on a creek-flat block or one with a lot of old timber on it. QBCC guidance is annual inspection and reporting where the hazard rating is high and CSIRO’s national survey rates this region high hazard. Book a termite inspection and we will remind you when the next one is due.
What does the 12-month warranty cover?
Twelve months on every general pest treatment, and anything listed on your certificate that reappears in that time is re-treated free. Termite work and rodent baiting are quoted separately and warranted separately. It is all written out in our terms and conditions.
