Our Local KNowledge
COMMON PESTS IN REGENTS PARK
Regents Park was originally part of Browns Plains and takes its name from a housing estate subdivision that went in from the mid-1980s, initially known informally as Emerald Hills, a name still reflected in Emerald Drive. It shares its origin with neighbouring Heritage Park, both tracing back to the same original subdivision, so the two suburbs are historically siblings rather than independently founded, and Regents Park is the one that kept more of the school and community infrastructure from that original development.
The suburb is diagonally bisected by an extensive linear park following a tributary of Scrubby Creek, with walking trails and sports facilities built along it, and seven named parks sit within the suburb boundary, more than most of its neighbours. Yugumbir State School, opened in 1986, and Regents Park State School, opened in 1994, anchor the residential area, though there is no secondary school within the suburb itself, with Browns Plains and Park Ridge high schools serving the area instead.
Demographically Regents Park stands out for its stability: high home ownership, comparatively high income, and near-total detached housing, all pointing to an established family suburb rather than a young or transient one. That tends to mean scheduled annual maintenance and termite inspections booked ahead rather than reactive emergency call-outs, though the creek corridor still brings its share of mosquitoes and moisture-loving pests to properties along it.
Termites
TERMITE INSPECTIONS IN REGENTS PARK
Nationally, termite damage outstrips the combined cost of fire, flood and storms every year, and it falls outside what any insurance policy will pay. The CSIRO national termite survey rates this region high hazard. Regents Park’s housing dates mostly from the mid-1980s to mid-1990s, old enough that original barriers on the earliest homes are well past their working life.
We assess the roof void, subfloor where present, internal walls, the full external perimeter, fence lines and any yard timber, using a moisture meter and thermal camera throughout. Properties along the Scrubby Creek tributary corridor carry more ground moisture and mature vegetation than blocks further from it, both factors Coptotermes acinaciformis is drawn to.
Given how established this suburb is, most owners here are booking their own annual review rather than reacting to a problem already found. The QBCC recommends annual inspections as a minimum in high hazard areas, which suits that pattern well.
What you get
What's Included in a Pest Treatment
A quick spray around the outside is not a real treatment. We start indoors, working through the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, wardrobes and skirting boards, before moving up into the roof void and down into the subfloor where one exists.
The exterior pass covers the perimeter, eaves, window and door frames, weep holes, fence lines and garden beds, with wasp nests and webbing cleared and dust or bait applied to voids spray alone will not reach. For a property backing onto the creek corridor or one of the linear parks we extend the boundary check accordingly.
The average job runs 60 to 90 minutes. Certificate by email the same day, with a reminder set for your next service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Regents Park Pest Control FAQs
The things people ask us most before they book.
How much does pest control cost in Regents Park?
It depends on the size and age of your home. Ring 1300 545 489, describe the property, and what we quote is what you pay, free either way. Given this region’s high termite hazard rating, ask about a termite check at the same time if your home dates from the original 1980s and 90s estate.
Is Regents Park the same as Heritage Park?
No, though the two are historically linked. Both suburbs trace back to the same original subdivision from the mid-1980s, so they share a founding history, but they developed differently: Regents Park kept more of the school and retail infrastructure, while Heritage Park’s defining feature became the old tip site now being turned into a sports precinct. We cover both, so tell us your street address and we will confirm which suburb applies.
How often should I get a termite inspection in Regents Park?
Every 12 months at a minimum, and consider more frequent checks if your property backs onto the creek corridor or a linear park. The QBCC recommends annual inspections in high hazard areas. Book a termite inspection and we will hold your reminder.
We're near one of the linear parks. Does that change anything?
Yes, properties along the Scrubby Creek tributary corridor tend to see more mosquito activity after rain and slightly more spider and rodent movement than a block further from it. It is a normal feature of living near that kind of parkland and mostly changes where we focus attention on inspection rather than what pests you are likely to see.
What secondary school options are near Regents Park?
There is no secondary school within the suburb itself. Families generally use Browns Plains State High School or Park Ridge State High School in the neighbouring suburbs. It has no bearing on pest pressure, but it is a common question we get from residents confirming local services.
How quickly can you get to Regents Park?
We can usually get there same day or next, Saturdays not excluded. Ring 1300 545 489 and flag anything urgent, a wasp nest, scratching in the roof, or termite damage just found, and it moves up the run.
What does the 12-month warranty cover?
A 12-month warranty applies to every general treatment, so if something named on your certificate reappears within the year, we return and treat it free of charge. Termites and rodent baiting are a separate job, quoted and warranted on their own basis. Full wording is in our terms and conditions.
